Colin has been painting full time since 2013 and has enthusiasm for capturing light and painting outdoors.
He now teaches, demonstrates and carries out workshops in addition to teaching on cruises. He is pleased to announce that he will be
teaching next September 2025 in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland with Friendship Travel. Colin is inclusive and understanding in the way
he dedicates his time to those in his classes.
Working individually and collectively to ensure everyone enjoys not only a fun experience during their holiday but will also feel that they
have benefited from the time and have new skills and insights to take home in their suitcase!
Itinerary
Sunday 7th September, Day One: Check-in at the hotel and settle into your bedroom before dinner with your art teacher Colin, this evening.
Day Two: After breakfast join Colin in the painting studio. He will begin with an overview of the holiday and the areas for painting. A break for a light lunch (included) before you enjoy some fresh air and a walk along the beach and harbour area to photograph or sketch possible painting locations. Colin will, of course, offer guidance to the group. Dinner included tonight.
Day Three: After breakfast Colin will teach you how to work from your skteches and or photographs in the studio. After lunch (included) you take your equipment outside to create more sketches or your first paintings under the guidance of Colin, your art teacher. He will also demonstrate painting on location. Dinner this evening will be taken either at a restaurant or possible Fish & Chips here on the seafront in Ballycastle (not included).
Day Four: Today we enjoy a bus trip to the Giants Causeway and Bushmills area. Explore these areas, sketch or paint the woderful coastine and enjoy lunch in the Visitor centre or nearby hotel ( payable locally). Return to the hotel for a discussion and exchange of ideas and look at our sketches and paintings, before dinner (included).
Day Five: After breakfast everyone collects their pads and paints and heads out to paint the landscape opposite the hotel area. It is your chocie – Rathin Island – Fair Head – Scotland or simply the beach and sea. There’s lots of choice close by within a few minutes walk of the hotel. After lunch (included) either we head back outside to find more subjects or work indoors in a studio envirnoment, completing any unfinished paintings. For dinner tonight we will try a local restaurant ( payable locally).
Day Six: Our final painting day sees us continue to paint and sketch around Ballycastle and grab ourselves a bite to eat around lunchtime (not included). In the afternoon we return to the studio to complete any unfinished work and review our week together. There will be a discussion about what you have learned and what to work on after your holiday. Our final dinner tonight is at the hotel (included).
Day Seven: It is time to say goodbye to Colin and check out of the hotel
